Nestled
among the mountains of the Western Ghats, Wayanad is one
of the loveliest hill stations of Kerala. It is the
least populous district of Kerala. Most of
the reserve forests in the state are in this district. The loamy soil generally
show wide variation in depth and texture with a very high content of organic
matter. A large percentage of the population in this region is tribal and are
collectively called the Adivasis. They consist of various sects like Paniyas, Kurumas, Adiyars,
Kurichyas, Ooralis, Kattunaikkans and others.

Get involved in this project and let’s show the world
what Kerala’s all about!
Kerala is such a vast and diverse place that it is
impossible to fit everything about it onto a website!
Do you have an extra little something to add to make
our site even more informative, colorful and vibrant?
Or do you have a special little tit-bit or story about
the place you grew up in?
