Thiruvananthapuram is the southernmost district of
Kerala. The city of Thiruvananthapuram is also the State
Capital of Kerala. It’s name means the abode of Lord Anantha, the sacred
thousand-headed serpent who forms the couch on which
reclines Lord Vishnu, the preserver.
Built on 7 hills, it is a relaxed and easygoing place,
liberally covered by green, low-lying paddy fields and
coconut palms. A place where tradition and space
technology meet, Thiruvananthapuram truly represents the
contrasts India is well known for. |

Get involved in this project and let’s show the world
what Kerala’s all about!
Kerala is such a vast and diverse place that it is
impossible to fit everything about it onto a website!
Do you have an extra little something to add to make
our site even more informative, colorful and vibrant?
Or do you have a special little tit-bit or story about
the place you grew up in?
