The Underages' struggle to survive

Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. Leaders in what? The materialistic world has blinded us so much that we fail to notice what happens around us. Bus boys in hotels, helpers in a tier shop, housemaids, garbage pickers, you will find them everywhere. Next time we see a child working hard to survive don't just let us spare a thought, do something !

Booze to socialise

With Hundreds of Excuses to give, Its a status Symbol today.

With fading taboos, social stigmas and spurting nuclear families, alcohol is simply opening up the floodgates of socializing. Today Kerala is fast witnessing a sea of change as traditional and social inhibition is fast vanishing. Drinking is gaining a never before acceptance in social circles and the latest film trends and television soaps promote drinking as a way of living and socializing.

Charges of the beggar brigade..

Whose  fault is it?

Flooded in the city, wrapped in rags with grimy faces, these children can be quite offensive as well. They can transmute themselves to abuse you, if you do not donate liberally. They may even damage your car with a blade or nail if they are displeased.

 At the crossroads

 Awaiting dawn

At the cross roads

The genetic make-up of the people enables them to have a passion to idle away their time, to gossip, enact talking and behavior as in movies they watch.  Alcoholism and smoking also go hand in hand. People are canny when it comes to making fast money and there have been numerous instances.

…And how much is your daughter worth?..

Crooks in a Crooked world

People have often asked me if I would be willing to marry a man who asked for dowry and I always replied “No!”. But truthfully, I don’t know. There are a lot of  ‘what ifs’. What if  I loved this man and he loved me? What if we were soul mates…meant for each other?…and what if  his parents insisted on a dowry? [Ideally though, if he DID love me, he would put his foot down and refuse dowry…I wonder if that actually happens!!

A humble fight against globalization...

Trying to compete in their own way

The Hard life of an Artist!

The Government spend millions to host festivals to Increase culture awareness also to promote tourism, its sad to see traditional artists living for art performing on dusty roads with no shade. in contrast the rich superstars are paid in millions to witness their gimmick.

By the people for the people

By the people for the people

Strikes are common but never violent. The flow of life may be obstructed at times due to the roadblocks and bus strikes. But obstruction in activities is seen only in the towns and cities where as the interior parts of the State is never affected.

MARX AND GLOBALIZATION

Marx was a proponent not of maintaining old forms of production whether idealized feudal villages or "subsistence productions:; he was unalterably an Enlightenment Proponent of that much scorned word, "progress" - or what we today call "development".

Reality Bites....ouch !

Returning Homeland after a lot of hard work in the Distant Lands are often welcomed by harassing officials. It starts at the point of Re-entry at the Airport. Gifts bought for loved ones with hard earned money is frowned upon and sometimes even confiscated by the customs officials. Passports are scrutinized minutely for errors made by other civil servants to catch out the "Culprits" to belittle them in front of other passengers. But the hassles don't just end at the airport. They have just began.

The Educational System

The educational system

Education does not mean the system that fills youngsters’ brains with electronic garbage, mathematical and chemical formulae. Now teenagers have enough general knowledge and excess of theory. But most of the youngsters lack common sense, sense of humanism, imagination and team spirit. So the education system should help to arouse the imagination and creating personality rather than filling them with scientific ideas.
