Then there are people's favourites - 'boy bands' and 'girl bands'. 4 or 5
young people who can't sing for nuts, armed with good looks, fashionable
clothes and the same old themes trying to weave into people's hearts by
dancing and crying and what not. Haven't we really had enough of the
Backstreet Boys, Boyzone, Boy-this, Boy-that and of course the highly
feminist girl bands professing 'girl power'. Girls have all the
power in the world even without these girl bands. Even the
government is asking people to have female children. So, why do
you need these girls who get filthy rich by ' exhorting you to
freedom'?
But the filthiest form of music is by any length - Indipop. I haven't
figured out as yet why the whole of Bhatinda and Jalandar is in the business
of making music. Bangra videos and music are the most senseless. All they do
is hire a couple of leading models and a few sidekicks. A swanky teen
hangout is always the most favoured location for videos. You probably think
I am so angered by these because I am no model and nobody is going to put me
in a video. Not even as a sidekick! But seriously, what puts me off is
morons like Bhupi, Mika, his cousin, aunt, uncle (all from in and around
Jalandhar mostly!) telling us in stupid shows on MTV, V, B4U etc how
difficult the whole song was and how challenging shooting the video was.
Hey, come off it fellas! We know how 'difficult' it can get!
Anyone reading this article (if there is anyone that is!) will probably
think I am a Philistine, or would be trying to figure out how somebody can
carry so much hate around! It's just that I am so put off by people who try
to push average or even below par under the pretext of it being cool only
for marketing gains.
