Located between Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta in the
south, Kochi in the North and Idukki in the east,
Kottayam is among the state's more mountainous
districts. Sandwiched as it is between serene
palm-fringed backwaters on the west and the Western
Ghats on the east, it provides some of Kerala's finest
natural sceneries. Much of this beauty is laid out in
all its glory along roads, which wind from Kottayam to
the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in Thekkady through
plantations of rubber, tea, coffee, and pepper. |

Get involved in this project and let’s show the world
what Kerala’s all about!
Kerala is such a vast and diverse place that it is
impossible to fit everything about it onto a website!
Do you have an extra little something to add to make
our site even more informative, colorful and vibrant?
Or do you have a special little tit-bit or story about
the place you grew up in?
