( A spicy preparation of minced meat, this is a comparably new dish)

Here's how to make yummy meat ball curry....

Ingredients

Quantity

minced meat

1/2 kg

onions  (finely chopped)

2  dsp

green chillies (finely chopped)

1/2 dsp

ginger (finely chopped)

1/2 dsp

garlic (finely chopped)

1/2 dsp

coriander powder

2 dsp

chilli powder

1 tsp

turmeric powder

1/2 tsp

pepper powder

1/4 tsp

cumin seeds

1 pinch

cloves

3 nos

cinnamon

2 nos (1" long)

cardamom

2 pods

aniseeds

1 pinch

thick coconut milk from 2 cups of grated coconut

1/2 cup

vinegar and salt

as required

thin coconut milk

2 cups

oil

1/4 cup

onion slices

1/4 cup

garlic slices

1 dsp

ginger slices (thin and long)

1 tsp

green chillies (slit at one end)

a few curry leaves

Grind the coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and aniseeds smoothly.

Mix together the minced meat, finely chopped green masala, 2 tsp. of masala paste, little vinegar and salt. Shape into small balls.

Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion slices first and then garlic, ginger and green chillies. Add the remaining masala paste and sauté over slow fire till the oil separates. Mix thin coconut milk, vinegar, salt and curry leaves. Let it boil.

Drop the meat balls gently into the simmering gravy one by one. When the meat balls are cooked and the gravy is reduced, add the thick coconut milk. Bring to boil and remove from fire.
