 (The most famous vegetable dish in Kerala, common among all the people of Kerala)

Ingredients

Drumsticks

225 gms

Elephant yam

115 gms

Plantain (raw)

115 gms

Pumpkin

225 gms

Green peas (shelled)

50 gms

Grated coconut

115 gms

Coconut oil

50 mls

Green chilies

5 gms

Red chilies

2 gms

Turmeric

a pinch

Cumin

a pinch

Curds

115 gms

Curry leaves

a sprig

Salt

 to taste

Mustard seeds

    Wash and peel vegetables and cut them into long pieces

    Grind together coconut, green chilies and cumin to a fine paste.

    Beat the curd well.

    Boil vegetables in sufficient water and cook them with turmeric and salt.

    Add ground ingredients, beaten curds and curry leaves. Bring the mixture to boil.

    Heat oil, crackle mustard seeds, add whole deseeded red chilies and temper the dish.

    Switch off the fire.

    Pour fresh coconut oil and serve hot.

    very common dish goes well with rice and is one of main dishes in a Sadhya.
