Kerala – a land sliced by innumerable rivers. Over the
years, roadways, railways and air have slowly but steadily
replaced the barges and rice boats of the rivers. But Kerala
still remembers her long and intimate relationship with her
waterways. Boats still glide languidly along the many rivers
and streams in the state. And for a people born and bred near
water, what could be a better way to celebrate life than
through the boat races.
